The upcoming event Musical Adaptation in Practice: Film, Theater, and the Creative Process is part of Adaptation Today’s mentorship series, which supports emerging and established scholars alike through collaborative, cross-disciplinary dialogue. In this special session, we'll hear from artists who adapt stories across media, whether through composing new scores for silent films, or staging theatrical adaptations with music and puppetry.

Adapting Franz Kafka for the Stage. With Puppets!

Each speaker will give a short talk about their adaptation journey, accompanied by clips from their work, including selections from Sherlock Jr., Blackmail, and Kafka: The Musical. A live Q&A will follow.
